labor day is a holiday weekend which all squads agreed is fine to take off for. we already played matches last weekend and now since 2 people on 2 different squads cant show we all of the sudden delay again? thats crazy...

if thats the case we want a delay for the 25th because we will be missing 4-5 of us

Matches should be tommorow. Wasn't the whole point of this season to include players with lower ratings. Use your bench or make time for 30 mins.

Where are the admin responses? Why can't Overwatch try to schedule a weekday match or get a delay just like Fear and WH did? I was expecting this weekend to be the last weekend of the season. Why would we delay 2 weeks in a row because a few players from certain squads can't show? How does that make sense...

We should be given the same opportunity to reschedule our match as well.

Fax and I limited our involvement in the delay decision because of our possibly conflicting interest as (Co)Captains of playoff squads.

To offer a simple fact sheet of what was said from the Captains and Admins:

--Fear/Rejects couldn't agree on a weekday game.
--Fear/WH said they would both be forced to forfeit this Sunday because they would not have enough show. Fausto decided that competition was more important so he delayed to the 25th so there would be more than one match.
--OW raised issue with the 25th as they'd be missing 4-5 of their players.
--Fausto decided the 25th was a better option than having two squads forfeit.

That's pretty much the discussion, not casting judgment myself on whether any of the 3 squads actually would have enough. Squads/players are screwed one way or the other.

Still haven't seen much discussion in the Cap forum about possible week day matches though.

To clear up some confusion as to why the decision was made was due to scheduling conflicts due to Labor Day Holiday in which we did not foresee a delay needing to be made. In which 50% of the playoff squads were MIA.

To be as transparent as possible; I will be copying and pasting what I posted in the Captains forums in regards to this decision.

"I appreciate everyone's comments and input. While the decision was hard to make; the reason was that WH and Fear both mentioned they would more than likely not have enough if playoffs were this coming Sunday. Due to the unforeseen day of the Labor Day holiday; no one, including myself figured there would need to be a delay that weekend. As soon as this happened; it changed any schedule we had assumed would follow. Please note revisions needed to be made to accommodate this delay.

To give an example of scenarios that played in my head:

Scenario 1
-Allow OW vs WH 9/18/2016 (WH loses by forfeit) - Unfair for WH, but fair for OW
-Allow Fear vs Rejects 9/25/2016 (Someone wins) - Fair for fear, as I delayed a week for them, and unfair for rejects since I delayed them due to the other squad's activity. *If fear wins this match, rejects could easily contest it by saying there should not have been an extra week delay*
-Champ match: 9/25/2016 (Rejects wins, because OW won't show enough)

Or

Scenario 2:
-OW VS WH 9/18/2016 - OW wins by forfeit, unfair for WH
-Fear vs Rejects 9/18/2016 - Rejects wins by forfeit, unfair for Fear

Or

Scenario 3
Delay two more weeks and have matches 10/2/2016... and some other squad will have a reason to want to delay. (I.e. no medics showing, leader will be mia, top marines will be away.. etc etc)

We will not be able to please one person, two persons or squad(s) with any decision I make. What is best for the league is to have a competitive playoff/champ week and to start next season as soon as possible. There is a blurred line that is needed to be drawn to meet in the middle, thus comes the one extra week delay I gave.

As the Administrator, it is my job to be as "fair" as possible; When 50% of the squads that are in the playoffs mention they will not make their playoff match due to a holiday conflict; a decision of "competition" needs to be made. There is no unfair treatment in my decision; it just so happened that Yosh's 30th birthday is the day of the 25th and Champion will be out of town. I do not know the remaining player's on that squad's itinerary; so I cannot comment.

To end my post with a reiteration of what Staley said, no squad has priority over another in this situation. Unfortunately the Labor day delay happened; the cards I am dealt are unfair, unfairER, or unfairEST. Sorry Overwatch; I really do hope you show and are successful. Please do not take this decision personal. If it was up to me; we would have played Labor day weekend and none of this would have needed to happen."

***Weekday Match Possibility:

As any other week; in which matches are set on a Sunday: OW can still schedule a weekday match if they and the other squad agree to a time. The date of 9/25/2016, is for when matches will occur, if a happy median can be found during the days leading up the 25th, then by all means, please proceed to schedule. The other match, Fear vs Rejects will still be on the 25t as it has already been scheduled in captains forums. ***
