You have a point but playing with friends has been an excuse for over a decade. It started with roster decreases and has been used as a "legit" excuse since.

If you truly feel the admins are not doing the best they can for the league, thats fine, keep bitching but for the love of god, offer some decent solutions. Not just, "omg lol dae h8 salary cap??!?!?!". Youre a smart guy Mark, you know as soon as we go back to the old system it will be exactly the same as before. We as a community will find something else to bitch about, we always do. Admins are doing their best with what they have, if you and your buddies dont feel like playing because of the salary cap system, then dont. Simple.

Not when these 'hypothetical' players don't want to play, but rather are doing it because of me, a friend asking them to as a favor for 30 mins on sunday for the next couple months.


They don't want to play, but are doing it as a favor to you? So why not just be glad you have another season. Instead of trying to scrap the whole system in the 11th hour just so you don't have to do basic math. Or so a few other people can join you as a personal favor.

This is what I'm saying as well, Apollo. To give a specific example, I'll just use yours. You choose to make a squad, and choose to attempt to fill it with people that would otherwise not participate in the league. These people, in turn, choose to play for your squad or not at all. Where fact becomes incorrectly aligned with opinion here is that you seem to believe that the salary cap brought any of this on you. These were all choices you made.

There are plenty of people that could join your squad, and that would keep you within budget. You CHOOSE not to recruit them. If you go over budget recruiting players you want to play with, the salary cap/admins do not force you to fade your squad. That, again, is a choice YOU would be making.

I'm not really inclined to continue this argument, since I don't believe you're willing to see any perspective but your own, but I didn't want your request for an example to go unanswered. I acknowledge your contributions to the league, in creating maps, offering suggestions, and bringing more competition by creating squads.

I think it's great that you choose to lead squads, and I think it's even better that you are able to convince players that would otherwise not participate to join up. However, it's only really great if you do so in an effort to support the league. What you seem to be doing is attempting to leverage your contribution(s) against rules or policies you don't agree with.
