Is there any key to running inf on win8. I hate every Windows that's not xp but this one is the worst. Hardware acceleration can't be turned off. I actually have a pretty beastly laptop, plays ff14 on ultra no problem, but inf is a different pill to swallow.

Yeah I feel you, I have to jump on my old shitty computer everytime I want to SB because I can't play inf on my new one

I remember when you originally fixed my frame lag with hardware acceleration but i've had the same issue since i have returned. I'm running an i7 4770k with a GTX 660 and i get really shitty choppy fps in close teamfights it drops around 17-24. I can honestly say i have tried every single solution and combination of settings and i just don't think it's fixable without lowing hardware acceleration in xp. It's a really big disadvantage up close and around buildings because they seem to make it worse. Also showphysics, line of sight i just can't turn on. CTF is a completely unplayable lagfest. It seems the better your pc is and later the version of windows you have installed the shitter it runs.

p.s forgot to mention the one setting that seemed to help a little bit was changing the in-game setting "obscuring wall display to solid".

I don't get it. I have windows 8 and it runs perfectly fine. Don't need to mess with anything except the advanced options.

Run the game in windowed mode and tick every advanced option. Just double click the window to max it to your monitor. Works good for me. My fps never drops or goes higher than 120, ever. For infantry high frame rate means absolutely nothing. You need a steady frame rate that won't move to avoid screen tearing and shit.

It's definitely windows 8, it hates some hardware when it comes to Infantry. If you can't get it to work I would suggest dual booting into 7 or even XP.

Windows XP 250fps
Windows 7 220fps
Windows 8 80fps

FYI, there's an easy way to disable hardware acceleration on Win7 even if the option is greyed out for you in system properties. Download/install the DirectX SDK from Microsoft here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=6812 , run DirectX Control Panel, go to the DirectDraw tab and untick "Use Hardware Acceleration".

This will steady your FPS in the same way the old XP option used to. It might not make a huge difference in SK but in CTF it's pretty helpful with all of the crap flying around on screen that can lower FPS more.

I did some searching for you Molo but I don't think there's any way to do it in Win8.1, at least not easily. Microsoft removed the option in the new DirectX SDK. I think it's because Win8 uses 2d hardware acceleration for all of the new crap metro features. Your best bet is to dual boot.

i got windows 8 but i have less fps than i did on my old ass shitty comp 10 years ago. Its not bad though, but i cant get out of windowed mode. might switch to 7/xp
C
how come I only have the option for a windowed reso? :(
OP ⭐ x4 👑 💠 Clique C
Criminal go to your Infantry folder right click Infantry.exe then change to a different Windows compatibility mode. Win7 or xp should work. Voila, welcome back to reso inf.

I'll look into dual booting I think it's the only option.

Awesome thanks bro
