The issue isn't the allowance of NTs it's the implementation. A squad should be forced to play players on their eligible roster that are online before being allowed to use a NT. (Who's to say Backs doesn't tell his guys to not login for the match, although that would be a flag to the rest of you on his squad). My point in all of this is that by the explanations given to me I can use NTs from across the league rather than my own roster and that is OK.


You really need to do some revamp on the rules for future seasons and you need to start holding players accountable for moving squads. Kicked players should have no wait time (Hey Yosh you'd get to play). Players leaving on their own should be forced to wait 10 days BEFORE being able to join a squad. You have 15 man rosters, these squads don't "need" an NT to show enough to play a match of 8s.

Edit: And in the event they did need an NT they would be allowed until playoffs (By rule 3.5)

Nowhere have I said I'm grasping at straws to prevent anyone from playing in this match because I need them to. We'll still play the match, and it will be a good match at that.

If you read my posts you can see that I'm OK with them playing this week. Just that these rules need to be addressed in future seasons to fix these kind of issues.

Agreed, there are definitely far tougher squads than MS, and loads of players to worry about other than yosh and kaga. This is about some very plainly and clearly written rules being misinterpreted and misrepresented for personal gain. How are you going to run a league where we just ignore the rules that are written on the rules page when there's a dispute?

NT players are allowed by default until playoffs. Players with a waiver number next to their name are not considered an NT until playoffs. Is that simple enough for you?

Just take a step back, click the rules page. Clear your mind of what you *want* to read, and just read the rules. From beginning to end. It should click immediately.

Ok last time, they will play this week, that's fine. It's a bullshit loophole that should be addressed IN THE FUTURE. There are plenty of players on rosters that are benching each week that you can't justify the NEED for NTs to be permanently allowed over roster eligible players.

Fix the broken rules for future seasons that's what I'm advocating at this point. You have no accountability of the players. Enforce a wait time on players BEFORE joining a squad, not after they join a squad (Eric, think old SL site setup). Players leave a squad they must wait X days before joining a squad then are immediately elibilge upon a time they join said squad.

Side Note: by this same rule, Metal and neg would have been ineligible for us this weekend. If we'd had 8 others online. So it works better for us even though the rule as is, is broken.

3.1 Non-Team Players are players that are not on any current season roster, or those who recently joined a squad that are still on a wait period.

3.2 Players who wish to NT must be on the Free Agent list on the USL zone.com website. This is to enable quicker roster checks by the Referees. This rule can be declared void by the Referee if the Referee determines it is necessary.

3.3 An NT player can only NT for a squad once per week.

3.4 NT players can only be used if there are no other members of the squad present. (Example: A captain cannot choose to use an NT when a member of his squad is in spec.)

3.5 Non-Team Players are allowed by default. For Playoffs, allowing NT players must be agreed upon by both squad Captains.

3.6 NT players count towards the minimum 6 players that a squad must show to play. A squad must show at least 4 from their own roster (which includes those on the wait period).


-So a Non-Team Player is someone still serving their wait period (or not squadjoined). NT's are allowed by default unless the squad shows enough squad-joined players, or if it is playoffs and the captains disallow it.

-So if MS shows enough squad-joined players, they cannot use NT's.

-Please demonstrate using the rules AS THEY ARE WRITTEN how I am wrong. Because I'm not. You are.
