Ok yea website doesn't like my post, so I'll just shorten it here.

Australia hasn't had a mass shooting since 1996 when gun laws were implemented. Before that, there were 13 mass shootings in the 18 years prior (see USA Today for reference)

Criminals will still get guns, I get that, but it becomes much harder to do and the random guy with mental health issues probably won't be able to get them because of the difficulty and the price. Black market price of a semi-automatic handgun on the black market in Australia jumped from $2-4k up to over $15k.

What we're doing now for guns isn't working. The whole situation continues to bring forward how bad we are at mental health as well..but that's a whole different (but related) argument.

Edit: Better example than the Bowie knife. Most people can avoid eating Tide Pods, but some idiots can't so stores have started locking them away to make them harder to get.
