The top squads are scared bro. They don't want to give the lower squads a chance to win a game... They like base raping in boring ass USL... Go figure. I don't think its so much they are scared as it is there was always a rift between USL and SL players. Some of us played both, but generally people preferred one or the other. At current everyone playing in USL plays USL by default. From the staffs perspective switching to SL might push players out that may not be interested in that game style. From a numbers perspective thats why I said (in Captains forum about this) we need more players.

From a competitive stand point, yes it will change the play styles up some, and give lower tiers a higher chance. But in reality, it won't alter the league as drastically as you may think it will. Top players will be top players regardless of if its USL or SL. The only difference is that while USL is solely about Marines and Meds, because there are flags in SL Rippers, Grenadiers, and Snipers (because of 3 death limits and 80hp bullets) can drastically alter a game. Where as in USL they simply cannot.

I know I was only teasing... I just really want a season of SL... What if we do just a face each squad once type of season?... To test it out?... I don't think people will just quit if SL is put up... Don't we all love the game?

Another thing to consider with SL is you generally need larger rosters than that of USL because subs aren't as easy to get players in for USL always. Bo3 matches give squads a better way to get more players involved, and because of the potential that matches would be longer you need to ensure that squads would have enough on for the duration. I think the 15 man roster would probably be ideal to start with.

trust me I'm not saying we'd do a double season I was simply outlining that with 10 weeks 1 person has reffed 85pct.

With the current staff activity level reffing 3 possible matches all that are Bo3 with a variable of how long matches can be is stretching an already thin staff even further. And before you say you'd step in to help, I asked if you'd be willing to ref this season, you said yes and then quit the staff when I left infamous.

Trust me I much prefer SL to USL, always have.

You bringing up the fact that 1 person has reffed most of the matches this season is irrelevant to the discussion. Especially the fact that 3 people alone in this thread said they would be willing to ref.

As for me stepping down I was asked by the young god mizzouse to stay so I told him I would.

Just to clarify, I have no interest in reffing USL. It was never a league that I desired to ref as matches were boring, and I was never as interested in USL as I was SL. I was a ref for SL back in SOE era and that is the only reason I'd offer to help if SL was brought back around.

Appreciate the guys who ref the matches for USL, just not my cup of tea.

Yep I reffed in SL as well.

You might be surprised on how many people would be willing to ref if changes were made. If Infinite is willing and Hiro/BB are along with Backs/Riley/tbxz to even match 1 every other week it is enough. Reffing is the last issue I would worry about if it was actually implemented in. Last time it was up the zone had bugs that would disconnect everyone, who knows if mizz would even put in the work to fix that.

You should step down anyways regardless of what mizz says. League first.

Yeah I'm more worried about all the bugs and the crashing that occurred the last time you tried to get a draft league going in there. On top of that I know Champ doesn't want to spend time switching the site to record stats from SL, etc. I'm sure Mizz probably wouldn't look forward to adjusting any bugs that were huge problems the last attempts as well.

It basically boils down to mizz/champ, no way to do it if they don't want it to happen. From the sounds of what Chris said, he doesn't like SL.. so unless backs wants to pay some dude to make a website, rip.

It's not that I don't like SL it's just that the amount of effort required is not worth it.
