Breakdown

If the USL has a benchmark for squad qualities such as Skills, Communication, Leadership, Cooperation and Tactics, the Allegiance squad this season would be on the edge of making that benchmark. My scale for evaluation is: Poor -> Fair -> Standard -> Good -> Great

Skills
The players on this squad have adequate individual skills. The general combat ability is blunted by age (arthritis will gets us all) and lack of use (players returning from inactivity). Also despite the time spent in pub play, decision making is still Poor for some individuals. Situationally speaking they have their moments, but the inconsistency and the low occurence of such moments have hurt them. Over all, this season's Allegiance squad has FAIR skills.

Communication
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the chat for this squad during match is active and in most cases, positive. Calling out targets, general fall back, general push calls are present if not enough. Where I find the team is hurting is from the negativity and denials that some team members constantly exhibit. This is what is keeping them on that edge of almost being a good communicating team. This season's Allegiance squad has STANDARD communications skills.

Leadership
Leadership style for this squad is single leader. There were some input being made when leader is active. When leader dies, it is mostly everyone for themselves as the squad often fall apart without secondary leading. There were visible efforts where someone picked up the slack, but it is not yet enough to help the team. While there are glimmers of hope for this group, the Allegiance squad this season has FAIR Leadership skills.

Cooperation (Team skills)
When playing against a similar opponent, the team fight seems to go better for this group. However, as is the norm with groups of player with lower individual skills, they tend to clump up for support and often to disastrous results. Meds not healing while trying to shoot (ineffectively), marines (at full health!) leaving meds to die as they save themselves, tunnel vision causing many to just hang back while their teamates pushed... and the constant stream of denials and negativity to cover this failure of individual tactics. This is a facet that the Allegiance squad will need to work on this season. Their Cooperation skill is barely FAIR this season.

Tactics
Team tactics are there for Allegiance. They know the standard knowledge of veterans of many SBs. However, the utilization of such knowlege are not yet executable due to any number of factors. Anything from slow to reacting to commands to being completely reactive in the encounters rather than being aggressive and taking the fight to the opponents. Overall, the Allegiance squad this season has only FAIR tactics.

Overall Rating: FAIR

Disclaimer: I recently had the privilege of NTing with this squad for a few games and get a (BRIEF) glimpse at its inner workings. I am hoping to either NT or sit in on the chats with other squads to do more analysis. My analysis for these squads will remain a review of their squad as an entity and will not mention individual players.

A good write-up. The blame-game after losing a battle is the reason I swapped from Black Spades to MS13 last season. It is a very negative element that can really bring down overall enjoyment of the game. I am sorry to hear that this atmosphere has followed Riley on to the new squad. I hope they can figure this out going forward.

Come NT with us tonight if you'd like, we are looking to play.
