I have already expressed my dislike for this rule in both the captains forum and general forums. But since it had already been in place when I took over it didn't seem right to completely remove it. It's something that is going to be talked about once this season is over.

The rule was to never bring advantage unless we had the right number of squads with a correct number of maps.
The only point of the rule was to bring some diversity to the map we do play. I've never seen kr/bombs be played so much, which means it's working.

Why would we bring a home field advantage that's less than playoff scenario, just for the regular season?
The only real time the "advantage" comes into play when you as a home team saved a specific map for a specific team (all random since schedules are random).

Look when we get to playoffs, not you backs since you'll be appealing from spec again this season. But when we do get to playoffs I can guarantee only apollos and ec are choosen and I promise you every home team / higher seed will defer.

The rule again is to promote more maps being played, and any real advantage is only when you start eliminating some of your home maps and the games late in your schedule. We wouldn't see any real advantage unless a team saved KR for their last home game vs a playoff squad. But with 1 extra map or 1 less squad in the season we won't see anything forced with 4 maps and 3 home games with 7 squads.

I would be open to anything that promotes diversity, not just a true home field advantage unless it's playoffs. Or else we would be playing collie kr as home each week and titan kr as away each week in regular season.
I could see if the map was eliminated from your selection with side and map being choosen working, but not a rule that would promote the best map each week.

maybe next season just have it so everyone plays on the same map each week and it rotates, you can poll for playoffs if needed. just flip a coin for sides, im sure mizz could code a *coinflip command in like 10 mins so we don't have to use external sites or home/away garbage

Coinflip is a good idea

A coinflip script would be pretty easy to code on the website and could be used at the time of scheduling.

Map rotation is nice, although I agree home should get to pick side also. Obviously teams with more home games get an advantage or against better teams have an advantage (more chances for upsets). So it is never gonna be perfect, something like coinflip script seems the fairest way.
