OP
As the seasons of USL go on they seem to get more and more competitive, with 8 squads here it is surely to be the best season yet. This is my pre-season prediction and breakdown of all the squads based strictly on what I've seen in the past couple weeks.
#1 Warhawks,
yep totally biased. With a new Warhawks, but same core for the last three seasons we have been playing extremely strong. I feel we have the top 3 medics in the league and a core group of marines that work well together. Everyone is extremely vocal and gets along well. When someone is playing bad usually there is someone else to pick him up.
Tactical (98) - Solid, best or at least top 3 marine in the game. Can consistantly get kills when down in numbers and is extremely well at communicating with his team.
Mecca (95) - A Top 10 marine in the game, what makes him deadly is his smarts as well as his unpredictable playing. He can be the most passive marine on the game, or the most aggressive. When he's in you better be checking around corners.
tg (90) - Does a lot of things unnoticed. If you think getting the most kills or best score is a factor in determaining how good a player is then you will miss him. He is the one marine I can trust that will be watching our flank or getting an angle.
Leak (85) - Very good marine, but sometimes lacks awareness. IMO he is the best 1v1 player in the game, and should you ever see him alone on a solo flank, you're more than likely going to fall back or die.
Warhawk (84) - Another great marine, he has finally shook off the rust and it shows in his playing. He is very vocal on vent and is the backup/co leader with me. Only downfall I see are his solos, cut it out bro.
Fax (96) - Not really much to say that everyone doesn't know already. He can keep you alive alot longer than expected and I don't really see any other medic in the game that can compete.
Lana del Rey (93) - Dominates at every video game, when he isnt PMing me about how bad someone is he is usually doing an amazing job keeping me alive (because I suck) or going sapper.
With basically the same roster as snakes, with a minor change we are extremely strong with very capable backups.
#2 Cobra Kai -
I've only scrimmed these guys a few times, but if anyone is smart you would know to not underestimate any lineup where Sov is in. Solid marines and the only thing lacking is medding. If their meds are on point, I see them steamrolling through most of the teams.
Sov (98) - This guy is amazing, I hate to say it because he might get an even bigger ego.. But he makes your team better. He is a great medic, but I really think he needs to Marine this season. Expect him to lead the league in kills.
e (96) - I listed CK as #2 only if this guy stays active. He always picks up a good score, CK need to make sure easoe shows up or they might might pick up some unnecessary losses.
Colossal (89) - Great marine, he does much better in team fights than he does in 1v1 situations. Expect him to get a high volume of kills this season. (Good thing Sol is on your team)
Y (80) - He has gotten so much better in the last two seasons. I remember playing with him at first on snakes and he made me pretty nervous to put him in. But he has really come into his own after switching to marine full time.
Cael (75) - Is he leading? He has a proven track record of leading one of the better squads, but not quite making champs. Hopefully he does just that and takes a backseat in playoffs.
England (75) - He looks like Urgot and talks like hodor from game of thrones. Enough said.
Q (82) - Pretty good medic, has the skills to be much higher but lacks awareness and smarts at times.
Surgeon (80) - Ok medic, huge ego. If he medics I expect him to stay near easoe and Sov, if he is medding their lower tiered marines I expect to see how good his medding really is. Mediocre at best.
#3 Tank -
Some people might think they should be ranked lower, but just based strictly on the pre-season the hardest times in scrims have been against Tank. They have made a lot of improvements during the offseason and I think the EC map fits better to their passive camping playstyle.
Albert (89) - Good marine, great aim. Don't think he should be leading as much as being a main shot caller. He need to focus on getting those early kills instead.
ent (90) - Another solid marine, he plays MUCH better on EC map than he does on KR.
ExTrEmE(1) (88) - Veteran marine, capable of making big upsets. He has what it takes to be a top tiered marine (again). Hopefully he can be vocal and help out the leader.
Ice (75) - The legend. I'm not sure if he was leading last night, but I taught him all my camping ways back in the day, and it was frustrating me. His passive leading mixed with Unb and dave, make for a deadly combo.
Killer (84) - He needs to Marine, if he for one second decided he wants to be a main grenadier I don't see tank being as strong. It might work against the lower tiered squads, but IMO it might be like playing down a man.
Unb (73) - Not very good on KR Map, but does a lot better on EC Map due to all the physics and corners to run around. Do not rush this guy, he'll run away and stream you in the process.
Keidiss (77) - Good medic, sometimes does not position himself right in battles but I rarely see him make a poor decision.
Jane (70) - Good medic, can eat the ocassional LAW or Grenade. Needs to stay behind the marines, and the marines need to do a better job protecting her.
#4 Instant Vintage -
Watered down SFO imo. Since we started scrimming them they haven't impressed me as much as they should have. I know I might hurt a few feelings with this, but I'm just being honest. While they have strong marines, I think they lack the medics to keep up with them, and the players all have different playstyles. Is yosh actually benching himself this season while running the squad? I don't get it.
Champion (97) - Good marine, has said repeatedly he isn't playing this season but has been on every day. Not sure what that's all about. #loudsigh
Devil (93) - Another solid marine, very aggressive and that can be a good thing or a costly thing depending on the situation.
G (90) - Good leader, good shotcaller. I think he needs to realize that some of his players are not like they were on SFO and need to accomadate to Shasta and Yosh's playstyle alittle bit more.
Prisoner (89) - Solid marine, hopefully he shows up more this season I feel if he was abit more active he could be a top5 marine in the game.
Shasta (73) - Very passive marine, he can make some clutch plays.. but expect him to be sitting in the back while their top 4 marines push in.
Z (73) - If he can even unspec, his lag is deadly. He plays very aggressive, and I think he has only one mode: HAM. Needs to drop the tunnel vision.
Manu (85) - Good medic, eats laws. If you mute him on vent he is a solid medic on any team.
Navy (72) - Ok medic, I hear he rages and types long paragraphs, but idk. Hopefully his rage doesn't coincide with the other ragers on the team.
#5 - Worms
great group of guys. They have some good talent, and have had a pretty similar roster for awhile now. Hopefully this Juggernaut offspring can make some upsets this season and hopefully their inactive players start showing to games.
SM (95) - Solid marine, has been kind of inactive the last two weeks I think but if he proved anything last season is that he can go MIA for along time and return with little to no rust. I expect him to lead the team with kills
Bmei (88) - If they can handle him on ventrilo, he is a great asset. I am happy he joined them. He has great skill and his only really drawback is his greed for kills.
Splittah (83) - Kinda faded from what I've seen, he needs to play more and within a couple of weeks I'm sure he'll be a top 10 marine in the league again.
Draco (77) - Pretty good marine, I don't think he makes a lot of mistakes. I don't really see him make a lot of big plays either.
Jek (75) - Is this really Jekyll? That dude used to impress me so much back in the day, if it is him. Like splittah, he needs to shake off the rust ASAP.
mc (75) - needs to lay off the ganja, makes smart decisions while sober.
Slob (80) - great medic, when he isnt attempting to keep "r" alive I expect he is making new videos for worldstarhiphop
r (69) - I think he leads for them, pretty decent guy.. but last season was not pretty. I don't think he got a kill until week 5. Def. needs to step up his marine game.
