Ok I have a question. On multiple occasions I've seen players walk by grenades as they explode. It's like they know the shrapnel is going somewhere else and they won't be hurt much at all. Is there some trick to this or is it just luck?

It's pretty easy to judge how far away you need to be from a grenade for it to not do as much damage. Especially if you're at full hp. It's kind of an eyeball thing.

@Abbath, if you are a certain distance away from the grenade, you can usually avoid most of the shrap damage by just continuing to move. it's all about your proximity to the explosion area.

To add to what mercy says, avoid the red balls of shrap the most. Those will do 15-20 damage by themselves if they hit you. I try to dodge those before I dodge the little fragments.

also for nade shrap you can knife it away

I know I can knife it, but nades literally explode next to people and they take no damage. I was just curious how that works. I need to learn nade science

If it's super close and it doesn't look like it took damage that could be server lag, happens to me all the time.

That's probably it then because every time I try it I lose most of my hp lol

But I never had a mic. I led New Beginning to a championship using nothing more than macros while everybody else was using Roger Wilco. Haha
