@Loki. Seen some people get specced but it's for pretty excessive vis-lag. Borderline ping gets a bit tricky. Usually it's pretty obvious. Also, force lag can become pretty obvious too when you look at the average, low, and high ping. If their low is 60 and average is low, but their high is 3000 you can usually assume they either forced or they are having some real shitty network spikes.

But yea, I'd recommend a 15 second timer for speccing. I could stay alive pretty well for 5 seconds if need be

Yeah its really for excessive packet loss that the game auto specs a player ive gotten specced once it hits 10.0ploss + as for ping roughly around a 2k+ spike.

I was playing pub for a few minutes with like 26% ploss lol

Restarting Infantry got me down to like 0.1% or whatever.

But I was definitely able to play with the 26% without getting specced automatically by the game.

That feature was disabled at some point while kon was around due to complaints from usl people. It is because people would automatically get specced during matches.

I think you can still get auto specced for frame lag. I vaguely remember this happening to me before because I had a bunch of shit running on my computer at the time and there was a hiccup and it bounced me back to spec when I was switching tabs. But that could have also been removed idk.

If a player specs on purpose or is even believed to spec on purpose by a ref, they lose a player slot for 5 mins. That's it... no ban nothing.

what if a team takes a lead w/ 5 minutes left in the game and they all spec on purpose resulting in 8 player slots lost for 5 minutes -- does that team win ?????????????/

the team that specced out loses the match. once you reach 0 players you forfeit.

what about if 1 player stays

for every player that specs on purpose 2 kills are awarded to the opposing team. so you'd be giving 14 kills to the other team. and if you have a 14+ kill lead you probably wouldn't be speccing on purpose at that point.

auto-spec for high packetloss is still enabled, it doesn't take your ping into consideration at all though. and the criteria for what's considered high ploss is... well, really high.

It almost always triggers on me if I F12 immediately after joining a zone.
