Breakdown

friend really struggled in their Week 1 match, beating Ad Infinitum by only 58. Meanwhile Weaponized Autism needed triple overtime to beat Whoa by an underwhelming 96 kills. Both squads looked sloppy and weak to say the least. If either one shows up playing like they did in Week 1, it'll be a slaughter. WA has home field and most likely taking south, so maybe they'll play a little better this week. friend is a weaker opponent than Whoa too, so you would think WA has the advantage going into this Sunday. I've heard from an anonymous source on friend, let's call him s. lob... wait that's probably too obvious, let's call him slo b.; that Sov has been making friend run 16 hour days all week in Apollo to prepare for this match. Will it pay off? Or will friend be too exhausted come Sunday night to be able to even run around Apollo chasing the autistic kids around the map?

All joking aside, definitely excited to see this match. WA has been playing great since coming into the league. They've been among the most active, SB'ing pretty much every night the last several weeks. They're playing very coordinated and organized, and it is really showing throughout the week. They do have home field which is usually a good advantage to have on a map like Apollo. Kevin is already halfway to getting a kills medal through one week. 18-3 Pandy showed up versus 3-18 Pandy which is always nice. But that was against Whoa and not a top tier squad like friend. It'll be interesting to see if the match is close if WA will try to stick to a consistent 8 players or if they'll make subs regardless of the match. Right now I'd still put an expectation on their lineup to look something like -

BB
dead (Med)
manu (Med)
Kevin
rapier
Pandy/Dragon
Hiro/Medic
gambler/Universal Soldier 2k

Kevin has been playing great in the nightly SBs, and he had that stellar Week 1, so he needs to show up Sunday night for sure. BB is obviously the captain and leader, and he'll need to stay alive and keep this team coordinated to make sure they do not get out positioned. After those two they honestly have a lot of well evened marines they can kind of throw together. I'm sure BB has the ideal lineup to use tonight though. I expect friend to try and play aggressive again this week. Sov likes to go for base rapes and stat pads against squads he doesn't respect, and from what I've heard he doesn't really respect WA at all. If WA plays smart and takes friend's aggression into account and sets up some plays, they might be able to steal some early battles and maybe send friend into tilt mode?

friend started the season the way you would have expected them to. The only surprise was Iron actually busting out a combat class instead of a medic. He's actually one of their top fighters in my opinion, so this was an interesting decision to make this season. Do they continue with this? The brothers Rob and slob should be able to hold down the healing without any problems, so I wouldn't be surprised if friend does have Iron primarily fight this season. Easoe and Sol started off with a couple dominating performances as you would expect. These three I mentioned will be the primary weight carriers in my opinion. One thing I'm interested in though, is who will play a support class for friend tonight? I expect at least one non Marine/Medic tonight. Will Sov go AT? Maybe Yosh again? AT definitely seems to play well in the rocky terrain of Apollo.

If WA tries to play passive and defensive would friend try a Nader or maybe a Sapper? Could that play into BB's hand though? Get friend frustrated and try a couple class changes, to where WA can try to take advantage of friend not being fully in tune and push quick and win some early battles? We'll need to see. This match will definitely come down to positioning and who falls and pushes at the right time.
