watching you guys try to come to a consensus to appease all 13 people who still play this game is much more entertaining than actually playing it

Improve at what, exactly? AI has leadership style that is passive in nature. Improve at setting up different coordinated ambushes in different locations? Ultimately it comes down to the leader who's making the passive/aggressive calls on the field.

If you try to convince everyone that AI's leadership will suddenly turn into a more aggressive group, fighting for angles, use solos, etc by more time on one map, I don't think you'd win, but I could be wrong.

Literally every squad in this game's history has improved when given time to play together and develop together... is that really up for debate all of a sudden in 2019?

I'm not arguing the generic point of "squad improvement" with more time on less maps.

I'm defending my position that I believe more maps to rotate through generates more interest. Squad improvement=!changing playstyles. You're saying that at the expense of lower tier squads having less time to mature as a team on certain maps. Sure, squads will get "better", but the playstyles won't change, due to the leadership calling the shots, and most leaders have a certain style/plan.

Squads will get better by being active. A good leader will be able to apply their comfortable, squad conformed playstyles across numerous maps with limited preparation time. As I said, it's their comfort zone, they should be used to it. Essentially, I don't see enough correlation between fewer maps and giving lower tier squads a higher chance of being more competitive with more "preparation time" to help balance the league, which I feel is the true source of this argument.

No argument there that more maps creates more interest. But we've done that the last 3 seasons I've been here, and it sounded like you guys did it the season before I came back too. How long has the 5 week 5 map seasons been going on? At least 4 seasons, no? Am I the only one going "okay, let's have an actual full season to change things up"?

And just to be clear, I am suggesting we use new maps (at least new as in different compared to the last several seasons) as the 2 maps.

So yes, you might play 3 matches on each map, but they'll be different maps from what we've played the last 5 seasons.

Dunno, haven't been back long enough to give valuable input on that. Seems like there's quite a few other changes to explore.

More maps is better.

It's cool there's new people that want some consistency but the overwhelming majority of us have played 10+ seasons and a lot of those seasons were on one map.

Helping new players while severining interest in old doesn't make it a good decision. Not sure where that idea for lower maps even came from. I thought everyone was generally happier this season with the freshness

Would playing a few matches on a couple of new maps really make you lose interest though?

Isn't that better than playing 1 match on the same maps over and over again? The same maps that everyone seems to agree, left will win on, at least in regards to maps like Apollo/KR assuming not a large skill gap?

Like I said though, I had a feeling a couple of new maps would be unpopular. Which is why I won't just force it but I'm throwing it out there for discussion and possible polling.

Champs kr is legit and feels new. Ks10 is ok but everything still south, same issue with ec.

What's hs's new map? Kp or new?

Honestly just get rid of ec and Apollo's.

Run next season with ks10, champs kr, and whatever other new map.

That's not a good map for usl tho unless we run flags

I mean, that's kinda what I'm suggesting though! Just also subtract maybe KS10 as well.

Champ's Modified KR (assuming we test and like it?) and then maybe a new map, especially if the community votes in favor of adding flags.

A more current version of that map. And to outline some things: The trees do not function as you'd expect. They're completely encased in green physics with an occasional clump of orange (around the trunks). You cannot physically hide in them and they'll have a high enough vision value that you will be able to see through them if close enough.

Size was also drastically cut down (compare images) so camping shouldn't be as much of an issue.

I would give his map a chance in terms of testing because if there are valid concerns, he will make adjustment unlike oct who said "nah keeping the changes because of nostalgia concerns". If the maps still don't work out even with revision then leave it out for the map rotation.

I'm with mecca. Assuming no changes are going to be made on EC/Apollo's, I rather work with revised maps/new maps for the map pool.
