I'm not saying to have a timeout for subs, I'm saying for circumstances that is out of control. A sub can be fixed by not speccing the player first before subbing which is not what happened during that match. I'm saying if the server takes a shit or a captain has a valid reason to change a ref mid game and the ref won't comply, do a timeout. The shit that happened for squads this Sunday threw the momentum off. It's hard to get back into the flow when something major happens.

Well to be fair one of the issues could have been prevented. Not to lay blame on anyone. But major issues outside of human error make sense.

As far as subs are concerned, I think a solution that should hopefully fix any problems:

1) players don't spec themselves
2) Refs start only using the *sub command

The *sub command helps prevent Captains from making errors as well as the ref. i.e. Joe left a minute before he was to be subbed in for negativezero, using the *sub command tells the Ref that Joe isn't in the arena to be subbed in. Ref tells Captain. Captain chooses a different player while negativezero continues to play. It also makes a nice little arena message letting everyone know so and so has been subbed in. Prevents the ref from putting a player on the wrong team... hopefully anyways...

tbh i'm not sure how we managed to make it however many seasons of league play (the last 20 of which no one cares about since 50 people play now) without having a timeout rule in place. this is profound stuff guys
