I don't understand this stupidity, like 95% or more played SOE infantry that play today. It just happens to be that most of them weren't good till after SOE died. It's possible they got better with advances in CPU but at the time most weren't relevant and couldn't start on any of the top 3 squads. It's also utter stupidity to think that the current players are substantially better when the population during SOE was 5x the current one and competitiveness was on a whole other level. If we held things all things equal (so we gave all players better comps), I'm sure that the majority of the previous greats would still reign on top in today standards. Mecca was around during S0E days, not really sure what the argument is here when you saw how good players like Akzel, Blitz, Prisoner, Myself (before the fade cut), Prisoner, Legacy, Monkey, etc. Players like ER which previously played 5-6 days a week for 5 hours per day now just play for maybe 30 mins a week and even faded still own the majority of the players playing currently?
This argument is redundant but bottom line why don't we question why most the current 'greats' were pretty much non-existent during S0E (those that played). Also Kaga's opinion aint shittttttttttttttttttttttttttt, nig sucks his noodles before he swallows them.

I'd argue if you had the same players back in the SOE days using the resolution/discord it would be the exact same thing. There isn't a high skill ceiling for this game, it's more about experience and knowing where to be and when to be there. A lot of the players on SOE days were smart and played countless seasons with the same players so they played better together. It's the same in sports, the longer you play with people the better you'll play. Hockey for example, I've played with people for 10+ years and know exactly where they are at all times without even looking for them.

Soccer Brawl is a good example of that, anyone whos played that zone knows experience > skill.

As someone whos played and won champs in both eras, I will say today is better. Not saying that some players from the past wouldn't still be good, its just the game has changed. NB won when half the league was macro leading. That can't be unnoticed. Also NB/WD were all like mid 20s/30s playing teenagers.

Sov/Sol/Nos - all started playing sk at the END of SOE and dominated. So it's hard to say if they would have dominated as much back then, but I think they would have.

I saw way more creativity and better mechanics in SOE days, i don't know why you think nos sov and sol would dominate that era. Delusional, the standard today is hide and seek. the players now, have it so easy compared to the competitive nature the game had with a massive talent pool of leaders/players. Near the end of SOE days, when people stopped caring is when players like sov/mecca started showing up.

If players have gotten better since SOE, then by that logic backs is the greatest sniper to ever grace Infantry.

The game has evolved, somewhere along the way people stopped caring about the game and the league and focused strictly on winning/stats at all cost. Is the player base better? That is debatable. People play a lot more scared that is for sure. But the competition was way below what it is on free infantry. It's not even comparable when there are 30 people on 16 different squads.

They do, look at the scores of games then compared to now..excluding stat pads, how Kippa and I played was not the normal.

My assessment is the same as Kaga. Watched past USL games when I played in CTFPL and the level of garbage oof. Watched during the juggernaut reign and above. P2P would only be worse. P2P were the 30 yo losers beating up on 13 year old kids like Mikec. Makes sense why people perceive they were a lot "better

The pace of the game was way slower. Still remember AD losing to Juggernaut by 20-18 (something like that). How in the fk was AD a top team beats me. Must be that level of competition I been hearing about.

Even the TS vs SFO is still a classic video. Not in terms of skill but how "creative" they were if you want to call that garbage game. Don't think you need 5hrs every day to realize how to play the same 2 maps over and over in SOE but I guess the plumber era needs every minute they could get to play the same fights again and again. Really makes you think.

There has never been any good USL players, only zones that produced real talent were Gravball and Pirate Zone
