#1: Lowlife Thugs – Started off the season with a good win over Dead Weight and now sit at 1-0. After watching most of the matches, I feel like Lowlife Thugs have the best chemistry/leadership of all the squads in Season 21. Rogue, Nos, Sov, and Iron were stand out players in week one (honorable mention to Yosh.) In my opinion Eric is playing the best AT in the league and by end of season his stats will back that up as well. Nos had arguably the best game of all players in the LT vs DW match. He reminds me a lot of Iron; they are very hard to kill and rarely in position to die. One negative was the number of deaths, even with a 45 kill win there were more deaths than usual and hopefully gets cleaned up for the upcoming stretch of the season. Everyone expects Lowlife Thugs in the championship match so anything short of that will be a disappointment for this squad.
#2: One Love – This squad was my biggest surprise of week 1. I did pick them to win against DW, however not by 30 kills. Kaga had the best performance of the weekend in my opinion by going 21-8 and destroying DW almost single handedly. He will need to duplicate this type of performance against LT to give them a chance for another huge win. While Dave and Typhoon also had solid games going 13-6, and 11-6 respectively. If Dave can keep his squad performing like this, I see no reason why they should log in during the week and just keep grinding on WoW. Week 2 will be their toughest test and maybe a preview of the season 21 championship match!
#3: FUP – Although I have them ranked as #3, I do believe they will fall to #4 after week 2 and a loss to DW. They got a nice week 1 matchup against Hellcats who were missing their shot caller in septicemia and they took full advantage of this. Kevin 37-5, Splittah 30-2, and Uni2k 27-4 all had good games and did most of the heavy lifting against hellcats. These guys will all need to have a similar type of game in order for them to upset DW in week 2. My biggest issue with this squad is they really struggle against the top squads especially in sb’s and that will translate into games if not fixed asap.
#4: Dead Weight – By far the most disappointing squad this season and starting off 0-2. Now this week 2 matchup against FUP is damn near a must win for them to stay close to LT and One Love in standings. I do believe they will turn things around this weekend with a huge win against FUP and do it in a dominant fashion. Stand out player from week 1 was Tactical, he was literally the only one on this squad to go a positive 17-14. Picking up Fausto is going to be game changing for this squad, it will allow Bad (mecca) to worry more about killing and opening battles which he is very good at. I still have concerns about the fire power on this squad. Although Ernie is a good AT, I believe he needs to Marine. They are very limited on players who can push/expose angles and take advantage of those opportunities.
#5: Hellcats – Hoping septicemia can show this weekend as their last match looked very sloppy and unorganized. He will keep the score down and at the very least keep the game from looking like a pub match. I do want to give them a huge shout out for making a squad and looking to have fun while also giving new players a platform to learn league play.
