Guys - I'm not going to beat around the bush here.
The recordings from the games last night are not usable.
A brief explanation of what happened:
After the chat error from last week, MP and I agreed that a new account would solve a lot of the problems we experienced, so I created the "USL Live" Account. Prior to last night's games I tested several times to make sure everything was working as intended, and those tests went off without a hitch. And so, with 30 minutes remaining before the start of the 10:15 PM EST game time, I switched from primary account to the USL Live Account, but I logged into the Steam version of the game, rather than the Stand-alone version.
Apparently last week Jovan implemented some new features into the Steam version of the game, one of those new features included being able to use other applications when you Alt + Tab during a game. When I typically begin the recording for a game, I minimize Free Infantry, Start the recording on Open Broadcaster, and then go back into the game with the window capture feature. Most unfortunately, when I went to Alt + Tab and start the recording this last night, it didn't minimize and I was able to press record right on top of the Free Infantry window. At the time this just seemed very convenient, and I didn't suspect that it would impact the window recording. In truth, it did impact the recording, by applying a windowed mode to an already windowed recording - the results are that probably 60% of the screen was recorded, whatever was in the center of my screen.
Fellas - I know this is just a game, but I am DEVASTATED.
Those games last night were amongst the most entertaining I've ever seen in USL. The commentary from Yosh, Demon, Mecca, Fausto, and dp was on point, and really well done. I know that I had my screen focused on the action the whole time, capturing some incredible moments including a double-law kill from Mecca, some epic snipes from Backs, Colossal absolutely going off, along with other great moments we won't be able to relive. Those games were excellent, and I am truly saddened that a record of them won't be preserved.
I owe you all an apology.
If there is any chance that any of you happened to have recorded any of the three games last night, PLEASE reach out to myself or MP. The audio track from the games is perfect, so I could easily lay the audio over top of someone else's recording.
I won't be using the Steam version of the game again to record. That much is certain. And from now on I will be checking my video quality between each match to ensure that the recording has no quality issues.
Not the learning experience I wanted, but it's the one I got. Again, I'm sorry fellas. Particularly to Hungry Beavers and TKO, who both deserved an opportunity to see those games again.
For now I'm going to work on the Week 3 Preview, which should be available by Wednesday or so.
