Folks, as you undoubtedly know by now, we are losing two extremely dedicated referees. Eric is taking a break from Infantry to pursue educational opportunities, and Dave is taking a step back as well. Between just the two of those guys they probably refereed somewhere between 60%-75% of all the matches.

I am issuing the call now - WE NEED YOU! to sign up to be a referee. We are happy to teach you, train you, and even to let you referee squad battles until you feel comfortable with the macros, etc.

If we don't get more referee signups, this is going to turn into a problem. And I would personally prefer that we tackle the issue now in the off-season if possible.

So please. If you have any open availability on Sunday, and if you love this game and this league even slightly, consider signing up to join the staff and referee these games.

First off, thanks to Eric & Dave for carrying these past few seasons, may as well call them both Chad at this point.

I'd like to ref If people are willing to let me referee their games. That seems to be the biggest hurdle for introducing new referees to the league. Can we trust people to referee, and actually read the rules/enforce them?

Maybe its time to force it. Every squad is required to provide a referee who has to ref a certain number of games per season

'Extremely dedicated' reserved for Eric. Majority of matches through the seasons were reffed by Eric and dp. They both put a lot more time and effort into the game than I did, especially in the most recent seasons. It generally does fall on 2-3 ]people to ref the majority of matches, but hopefully we can see some more stepping up this season. Maybe points for co-reffing too, because I think it currently only awards profile points to the main ref (or person that uses *mvp at the end?)

Co gets points just fewer. Thank you for all you've done dave. This season is gonna be wild

The macros are much simpler now, all you need is;

unspec macro's
startmatch(since this now includes all the ref macros in it)
mvp

Isn't *endgame still a macro for making the stats work?

Nah, *MVP saves stats

The mvp command just adds who actually reffed the match. The stats save themselves as long as *startmatch works properly.

Damn, I didn't ref because I was worried about macroes and wanted to sit with somebody when I had time...didn't realize it was just that easy.
