I was going to save this for USL live, but since we have a match coming up this week, let's do this in a more entertaining, open forum style @_@

This will be a Warhawks / Cats rebuttal to yosh's recent comments since we didn't have any representation on USL Live and rarely do (Not blaming anyone for that, by the way - I don't think we have anyone interested in doing so.) I figured it made sense to come from me (the worst player on warhawks/cats -- fantasy rating + eye test) as I'll be responding to the worst player on ATW / DX (also fantasy rating, but eye test is subjective).

1) "<i>They got incredibly lucky in that championship match. We got the first kill, made a stupid mistake and it costed us.</i>"
I mean -- isn't this the game? You're not always going to make the best decision in the heat of battle. I'm not sure where luck factors in here. Warhawks was lucky because you didn't make the best decision and it had nothing to do with the decision making of Warhawks? Weird.
Where'd we get lucky in the first game we won?
Was it unlucky when easoe ate two laws back to back in OT?
Was it unlucky when iron sat in place of you (also in OT)?
I'm just trying to figure out how luck plays into things so I can adjust in the future, tyty.

2) Ok, first:
"<i>and that was the worst roster we could probably put in in years</i>"
This one's too easy. You clearly could have a worse roster considering you forced 7's earlier in the season to avoid going up against Warhawks worst (fantasy rating) marine, but let's ignore that.
ACCORDING TO YOUR OWN PLAYERS (fantasy ratings)...
Our "marines (kaga)" were barely better than yours, but to make up for that, you had not only the best medic in the league, but the TWO best medics in the league. Additionally, you had the consensus best leader (vs a first season leader mind you). We can see that overall, based on fantasy ratings that were -- <i>again</i> -- constructed by ATW/DX players, ATW still had the better roster and thus we have to look elsewhere to answer the question `where did things go wrong?`
Here's some theories!:
1- Are the ratings wrong? Maybe The Warhawks players are underrated, or could it be that the ATW players are overrated? A combination of both? Do we need a fantasy ratings committee to get a better assessment of players?
2- Sov is overrated in the leading department. Fuck. This one hurts to say because I think Sov is genuinely the best leader in the game, but he had the superior roster and lost to a bunch of plumbers. <b>According to yosh's own logic</b>, Sov requires a VASTLY superior roster to win, because just having a marginally better roster isn't good enough.
3- Let's go back to the original quotes that started this: "sov was playing medic" (you know, the med award winner) - "our marine power wasn't there". OK, so let me get this straight. You have the two best meds in the game and somehow, despite being only the slimmest of margins worse from a marine aspect (fantasy ratings), your marine power wasn't there? I want to hear your theories here. Which marines suck? Just Shasta because he was the only one who didn't make a return? You? Easoe? Eric? Jordan? Jeff? When did those guys turn into a detriment that equates to "not having the marine power"? I didn't say it, you did.
<b>To summarize, what do we think caused ATW's downfall last season?</b>
Overrated/Underrated Players? Probably. Especially those ATW marines who couldn't provide the firepower. At least three of 'em should be benched for Champ, nos and chompy (sup chomp). What about Sov being an overrated leader? Less likely, but yosh implied it, so who am I to argue? Fuck, I don't know. Let's chalk it up to luck (twice).

Where is this even coming from? Genuine question. Warhawks existed for one season and nobody claimed to not be trying that one season. Yes, Cats is an offshoot of Warhawks, but it is NOT the same squad and that's the only thing we've reiterated this 1/3rd of a season that has been played thus far.

You can call Cats Warhawks all you want and act like you're going to get your revenge by phoning in a friend (Champion) to replace your plumber marines (you said it, not me), but fact of the matter is, you ain't beating Warhawks this season - sorry pal. That squad just doesn't exist, however, if it makes you feel better to huff the compium and say you're getting your revenge by beating half that starting lineup, you do you. I'll support you, homie. Just don't embarrass yourself by losing to three meds playing marine this weekend, cause that wouldn't be a good look. 20 kill win or bust, imo.
