Breakdown

Our first big match-up of the season features the returning worms and snakes, who are a returning squad from season 1. worms made some pretty nice off-season pickups while snakes seems to be relatively the same group. Will worms utilize their new talent correctly in order to make the playoffs this season? This match will give us a good idea.
Worms is coming into season 4 with 2 new strong marines, DeviL and Trisance. Both of these guys can be game deciders if used correctly. DeviL has a tendency to solo quite frequently and die early on. When his solo flanks work, they're really deadly. Let's hope for worms sake that they can hold off the battles long enough for him to take advantage. As far as Trisance goes there really isn't too much of a flaw in his game. The only issues I have with Trisance are his questionable decisions on whether to be passive or aggressive at the right time. Nothing huge but I think with all the support marines on worms he's going to need to be aggressive to balance things out.
The biggest issue I see with worms is their leading. They have all kinds of veteran talent on their roster but they can't seem to get over the hump. I expect it to be a little easier on the leader (Ola?) with the 2 new marines. If worms can pull their leading together then they will be quite deadly this season. It's really hard for me to give a projected lineup with how many active players they have. Here is what my projected worms lineup would look like:
Bmei (Mar)
DeviL (Mar)
Jek (LMG)
SM (Mar)
splittah/Ola (Mar/Leader)
Trisance (Mar)
slob (Med)
kaga (Med)
This doesn't leave much room for players like r, mc, bronco, England and Fire. Which begs the question: Will they play this season? We'll find out.

Snakes is slithering into season 4 after 3 consecutive seasons of the same roster, give or take 1-2 players. On paper they have a great roster but I feel the same problem that plagues worms also plagues snakes... And that's leading. I had a short stint on snakes and from my point of view I saw a lot of hesitation and questionable decisions made which resulted in really easy battles lost. I didn't get a chance to play in an actual match with them so it could be a lot different come match time. They didn't have much trouble against worms last season when Warhwaks defeated them 54-36. As long as players like Tactical, tg and and Legacy are on their game they shouldn't have trouble this time around as well. Although not as important for snakes as it is for worms, a victory here will put them in a good spot for the rest of the season. My projected lineup for snakes would look like this:
future (Mar)
Leak (Mar)
Legacy (Mar)
Liquid (Mar/Leader)
Tactical (Mar)
tg (Mar)
Lana Del Rey (Med)
Fairfax (Med)

Projected winner: snakes
