Mecca did a really cool format which I liked, so have pinched with pride.
PR WK1
1 - JD - After being handed the best schedule for 2 seasons in a row, they will finish #1 or #2. Again I seen some flaws in their game play this season. Poor execution and cowardly passive leadership resulted in yet another massive fail for Dave. This guy can't lead with a stacked line up Confidence is clearly low after failing to win what should have been an easy champ last season. On such an open map with a host of intelligent players, these have yet to discover their true potential. Personal advice is for Dave to step a side and let someone like Slash/Yosh lead whilst dave continues to try and learn his trade.
2 - Syndicate - good opening first week for us. Worms didn't play well, outlead throughout the match and lacked/crumbled when I chose to apply the pressure. Trisance/Ninj displayed outstanding performances yet again proving they are two of the best in the league.
Improvement required from everyone else. Marines need to be more aggressive, smarter in positioning and essentially learn to pressure and bully squads into mistakes.
3 - LTDN - Very tough opening week and pushed JD to the very end. With a bit more luck, the outcome could have been different, with 1 more top marine and potential of meds stepping it up, I expect better results to come LTDN way this season. Note I lost Week 1 last season then proceeded to not lose a game, learn and improve from the match.
4 - SS - started very strong (pre-season) although during the match they caught cold against KK losing an early lead. This is 100% a blip and I expect SS to be a dark horse. Any squad with darth leading and manu medding, you should feel foolish to believe it will be easy. These guys are champs and should be treated with more respect. Watch this space...
5 - Worms - They are still capable of making the top 4, I feel the squad will bounce back and do much better on south against any of the above 4 squads. Tactical and Legacy are currently a gulf in class above the rest of the squad. As much as I bash on some extremely gifted players in splittah, SM, slob, kaga, bmei, jek who have won at the highest level. Form is temporary, class is permanent. They need some confidence, players to step up and things to start clicking as a team very soon.
6 - KK - I fear the highlight of there season was on Sunday, if they could have pulled off that win, it would have been a massive confidence booster and set them up with a potential of making the playoffs. I personally don't believe they can now, although they proved on Sunday not to be taken lightly as they have killers amongst their midst and will win battles if you are careless.
7 - Hypo - District is crucial, very talented marine. I know s.f. well who is a decent medic. Not sure who everyone else is - although it was a good opening win. I think they can beat KK later on in the season if District shows and carries.
8 - V2 - this is not the right map for this type of squad, I would recommend just having fun and not taking this game too serious now you have lost to the next worse squad in the league. NEXT SEASON I WILL RETURN AND WE WILL CREATE MAGIC AGAIN.
Same format and agreed with Mecca:
Fantasy:
Week 1 Steals:
Uni2k (100) - 60 pts
Distrikt (90) - 33 pts
Bulldog (100) - 28 pts
Busts:
ER (120) - O pts (everyone had him)
Week 2 Advice:
Pickup:
slob (110) - medics in stat pads always get you $$
Ninja (110) - Lowest money for starting marine on JD v Hypo
Black (120) - trying this week, KK brought to reality
Avoid:
Anyone from SS or Synd
Week 2 Predictions
JD v V2
JD to destroy v2 then v2 to fade shortly after.
Final: 100+ kills win for JD
Worms v Hypocrites
Worms to bounce back with a comfortable victory over Hypocrites.
Final: worms 63-34
LTDN v KK
LTDN will win massively imo and KK will failed to break over 20 kills.
Final: 72-18
MOTW: Syndicate vs SS
I have an excellent record against darth, he has home advantage which makes SS favourites. Although this will be cat & mouse, I expect darth to be happy to keep the match score low as possible and utilise left of the big rock and weed as his regular camp areas.
Bold Pred: Ninj goes hog wild securing all 5kills
Final: Synd 5-4
