Yes, you can be sure this isn't whoever-that-is.
My point is, I've seen the video of the last few championships on YouTube- Armor is right when he says certain squads have become so good that it can literally deter people from even trying to compete. It's not their fault - there's just not enough people coming up that can tip the scales, or even start playing for that matter.
By going the "I want/don't want to play for you" route, there is a possibility of the bulk of a squad reforming. I know a lot of time and effort has gone into designing the 'system' so that it's hard/impossible for Das Uber Kinder team to be created - mad kudos, that's a tough job.
But there's also the possibility of a squad of solid performing people just not playing at all, because it isn't with their friends. That's why I put that out there - the community is relying on you to play, like it or break the game. That's the stakes. To which I said, you play with your friends all the time outside of competition, and surely if you're competitive there has to be some glee in destroying said friend on the field.
If there truly is no point in playing without your friends, then you need A. more challenge in your spirit/game, B. handholding on a level that is somewhat questionable, C. to make more friends, D. a new game to play (the worst case scenario and already happening at a dangerous rate), or E. some combination of it all. I thought the idea was to reduce D and increase A and C by doing E. The only way it can happen is if people ignore B. And before you "alphabet is hard stuff" F and U are still open.
Besides, who knows what will happen? It may be status quo, but what if it's really competitive? It could promote more training, or more frienemies. Maybe the next season we'll be talking trades AND picks - it's not like the player gets much say when they're dealt in a Major League sport.
And why not have a special round of awards? I like hockey's style of giving an award for practically everything. Captain's/Coaches Jack Adams? You could call it the dave Armor's award, for setting things up. Most Kills with a LAW - the "Rocket" Richard trophy of course! Most kills with throwables? The Golden Satchel. Most health healed? In honor of the sound effect of a heal, how about the Lady "Bling"?

If you're not playing this game with your friends its not about fun its about competition - aka goes against everything else you said.

I may be drunk, but I'm not sure you're reading me right, Jordan. I'm "saying competition over friendship", and only illustrating potential scenarios that could happen. At least, in the sense that if you aren't in your "old squad" you should still compete in USL regardless, for the spirit of competition - and at this point, the health of the game, too. You probably will have your friends (or at least some of them) on your team, anyway.
But even if by chance you don't - well maybe I'm crazy, but I like pwning my friends almost as much as playing with them. Being on the opposite team wouldn't make me want to leave - I'm going headhunting! :D
If you came this far in Inf and -you're still playing-, surely there has to be something in competing that drives you. This is a skill-based game. This change will ramp up the competition dial. Let's figure out ways to make it more fun to compete, so that "who's team you're on" doesn't supersede the actual game.

Most of this game would truly quit if they couldn't play with their friends. This game is not fun solo, the point of this game is chat.

^ He's right, maybe back in the day I would play on a team where I didn't like anyone. But now I am playing to have fun, I want to play with friends and people I genuinely get along with, it makes the game a lot more fun.

I can get along with most people. I rarely insult someone on a personal level, and all the abrasive talk comes from debate over the game, and I think that is healthy.
"it's hard to be your friend even if youre a nice/funny guy." Okay thats great, so don't squad with me. And I feel the same way about other individuals that you feel about me, and I choose to not squad with them. What don't you understand?

Being an adult means being able to communicate and deal with people you dont like. Why cant you use those adult abilities in an online game?
Im genuinely curious. Once again, youre a nice/funny guy who is also a very good squad captain and i just cant understand why you seem to be against every single thing in this game. Why do you even bother wasting key strokes on an online forum?
If it isnt a salary cap, its a rule or its a player or just that time of month. I really dont understand.

you know roman, adults in the real world can choose to not put themselves in a situation with people they do not like if they have a choice. So why would I in an online game when I have a choice.
Again, I disagree with a lot of things in this game and I am voicing my opinion. Maybe doing that is wasting key strokes. I disagree with the salary cap - I am not the only one, I disagree with some of the rules - I am sure as fuck not the only one. And I would love a list of all the players I can't get along with. Just because I have disagreements with them on the forums about the game, doesn't mean I can't get along with them on a personal level.
I fight and disagree with Kippa, Darth, Fausto and Dave for starters.. but on a personal level I actually enjoy them, and some of them I play other games with.
Please, if you're going to call me out post something valid.

How would a team fare if all the people who hated each other got together and faced the ones who didn't? The '92 Olympics 'Dream Team' coudn't all have been beer buddies - but they shat on every men's Bball team
