whats going on? You designed some crazy ass broken salary thing that majority of people seem to be against, announced a start date for tomorrow (while there are only 3 squads) And now you seem to have disappeared. Is USL done?

What tells you the majority of people are against the salary cap? The poll?

Speaking of polls, 13 people said they were willing to make a squad this season. It seems like that is the biggest problem currently. Lots of people are willing to make squads and play but few are actually doing it.

The admin staff has been a bit busy recently, so we'd like to apologize to everyone for the delayed information. Fausto has been rather busy tending to IRL stuff and I opted to take a break from USL after focusing on it intently for a while, and Fax is good for nothin'. However USL is alive and well, though seemingly marching toward a slow death. We'll need to push the start date back, per usual, because of the slow formation of squads. I think that I can speak for Fax and Fausto in saying that we want all of the squads to use their current roster, with maybe a couple additional players. To that end, the roster minimum will be reduced (probably to 11 or 12) and the salary cap increased (probably to 1325). I don't use my position to take unilateral action when it's a triumvirate, so as soon as Fausto, Fax and I are in agreement, the changes will be announced.

r: yes, the poll, some people that voted yes that I've spoken to have also said they wished they could change their vote if it actually counted, or just didn't care. Let's say 4 more people decide they want to make squads, we don't even have the player base to support another 4 squads at this point, not without there being a shit ton of no-shows.

Just recruit players without going over the salary limit, and then you won't have to worry about it. Honestly, it's the same conversations every season. I haven't been active in a long time, but I lurk around on these forums, and I can say without a doubt that if there were no salary cap everyone would just be complaining about something else. I don't mean to single you out either, Apollo, you're pretty far from the only one, it's just your comment that stuck with me.

How about instead of the salary cap and roster limits, we all just meet in pub every Sunday, pick teams, then square off and insult one another in spectator chat. After 30 minutes, we can all vote on who won the exchange, and forum flair can be handed out to the wittiest participants. This wouldn't even require delay weeks, as we could eventually move the entire operation onto the forums and just participate from our phones.

Everyone wants to talk about how the game isn't fun unless we can play with friends, and I can absolutely agree with that, but at this stage in the life of infantry I could join any squad that forms and there would be at least a couple people I enjoy playing with. I joined Miracle last season, played with a lot of folks I either never played with or haven't played with in years, got a beating put on me every single week, and you know what? I had a blast.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. All I'm saying is that if it is so difficult to form a team without using players that you either have a strained relationship with or just flat out won't recruit, maybe your standards are more important to you than actually playing. I'm not saying it's bad to have standards, just that you should make sure you give credit where credit is due.

90% of this game complains, actually, probably 90% of anyone playing any game will have criticisms or complaints. Just people rarely voice them on an open forum.

You absolutely can and should recruit whoever you want. However, anyone else absolutely can and should join whatever squad they want. If that's your squad, great. If that's another squad, that's also great. Where I tend to believe you are wrong is that bit about their options being playing for your squad or not playing at all. They may choose to play for your squad or not at all, but those aren't the only options. Just the only options these hyptothetical players are willing to accept.

Criticism and complaint are actually great. I think you may have missed the point of what I was saying. My input may not have added anything of value to you, or to anyone else for that matter, but it's my opinion. The problem, again in my opinion, is not people expressing those opinions. The problem is being unable to separate opinion from fact.

Not when these 'hypothetical' players don't want to play, but rather are doing it because of me, a friend asking them to as a favor for 30 mins on sunday for the next couple months.

If you're smart, you won't express any opinion or criticism within this league, if you do you're automatically hated and called out. And I don't know what you're talking about opinion from fact, can you use an example please? Well a fact is - more people voted against a salary cap and last season was arguably the worst season in the history of USL.

Why is this league still a thing?
