If we do end up with salary again... let's get some established rules for grading. Like whatever his average is we minus 5 per game he's missed the past 3 seasons or something. I noticed the graders the past few seasons have just been copying and pasting each other's ratings. Maybe just send out a private spreadsheet to each voter so we get honest/fair voting.

Draft - Competition up, activity down.. I think everyone is in agreement of that one
FFA - 2 top squads, 2 mid level squads that have potential to beat the top, 2 lower tier squads. Activity will stay the same, or increase due to occasional players logging in.

Con: Forcing people onto a team they don't want to be on is not a good thing, and would possibly lower activity levels

FFA -
Pro: More occasional players showing up on Sundays. Freedom to design your team the way you want to.

Salary -
Pro: ???
Con: same as FFA, but with less activity. Biased and emotional ratings - which dictates how the squads will be created, giving a select few individuals powers.

Don't know why you are bringing up the poll, when the last poll was against the current salary format nothing changed. Or does it only matter every other poll?

Draft -

The reason I mentioned in my first post that a draft would lead to imbalanced teams is because some drafters will naturally be more adept than others. Then compound that with some drafters picking based on friendship rather than optimizing pick value.

As I see it, a draft would be the absolute worst option.

Only thing I see is people fearing the draft due to not playing with who they want. Apollo mentioned it himself (most balanced). The only partial solution was having the preset draft captains of 3-4 players that are together already and fill in from there.

Just feel like we are arguing about the same stupid shit and STILL getting nowhere. Maybe keep your personal opinions out (insert whiney quote about season here) and base your thoughts/ideas off of benefitting the league/league competition.

Just set it to FFA so in 2-3 more seasons when the game officially withers down people can question where we went wrong and we can refer to this thread.

VC how about each squad gets one exo suit per game. When that player dies its gone. Can only be prized in drop ship

FFA isn't going to increase competition but the competition was only slightly altered with the draft. It just brings back semi-active players who can play occasionally without being a hit to their respected rosters.

Draft increases competition if captain/captain teams are balanced. I doubt it increases activity though. Too much Q.Q for that to happen.



Champ / Sol --

Yes Drafting is bad if the drafters are bad, but of the groups I suggested, I don't see any huge unbalance in that department .. except for dave; no wonder you're so against it, dave would just draft rejects. Either way, I would expect admins or "high staff" to have some say in who's accepted as drafting captain/teams to negate the possibility of unbalance before it even starts. IE: You're not going to let Brake be a captain in draft league (no offense to him - he's the man) as it would obviously already put his team at a disadvantage compared to other teams.

Sol is just mad because he choked in the playoffs, started off 0-4, and only got kills during garbage time. A draft would prevent dave and sol from stacking and camping their way to a championship.

Naw, I didn't really choke. It was just unfortunate circumstances that prevented me from having any kind of impact. I think it would have been a close game on EC.

I don't intend to play next season anyway, so my argument against the draft is with pure intentions.

Hank - I think the playoff match Sov was talking about when Sol didn't show up and I went medic for fun.

Something should be done to increase activity during the week. Its pretty boring when this game has become a Sunday only game. Maybe FFA had the most activity back then? Salary didn't help the activity but it did help balance things a bit. I say increase Sov and ER salary to 400 each so they can't be on the same squad they too stacked imo :>

Also this league is based around one day (Sunday) and trying to get people to play outside of that isn't really something that needs to be addressed. If people don't want to log on during the week to SB then that's their choice.

I honestly don't see the problem with salary, the draft teams are going to look basically the same. Captains will just draft players they like instead of best available. More accurate ratings will be a better salary system

Also I say this argument every season about draft.

Forcing to people to play with people they don't like might increase competition slightly. But it will decrease the amount of people that show up.

There's no truth to it unless you try it and it's only 5 week period.
