I'll respond as best I can atm. You might see me online checking the forums during the day, but I'd estimate I read 50% of what's posted, and really pay attention to 20% of what I read. I just don't have the time that I'd like to pay the attention deserved to every post. I basically skim the posts (when its 30+ at a time) over the course of 5 minutes 2-3 times a day to estimate the general sentiment of the player base. When my name is mentioned, i'll probably pay attention more such as for your post. Sometimes i'll have time late at night if I choose to limit my sleep to really pay attention and respond.

To respond to your question, that sounds like a great idea that is very similar to an idea i suggested for last season's ratings, where a player is rated on multiple areas, and those areas are weighted differently. For the previous seasons, draft wasn't much of an option at the time, and it was believed that FFA was creating a very unbalanced playstyle. Perhaps its experience or an indifference, but I'm of the opinion that I'm not going to choose what is best for the league, but support what the community thinks is best. I'll state my own opinion, but that won't prevent me nor any on the admin team from working towards the community's desires and needs. You may not wish to come off as passive aggressive, but it does come across that way. I have no horse in the race here, so take it as you wish.

Believe us when we say that we want this to be as inclusive as possible and will be calculating a players activity more into their rating and cost. These discussions are the basis of everything the administrative team discusses, so we appreciate all of the different perspectives and opinions shared.

What is the point of a poll if you only choose to change things based on what you want? Last season majority of people voted against salary. And you went really quiet and ignored the poll correct? You clearly did, since it was in the top right corner for months.

Then you post this: Concerning this next season, it seems to be that salary has won the poll ..

My question to you is what exactly is the point of these polls if you disregard them when you are in disagreement of the winning outcome, but then use the polls to validate and backup your decisions at another time?

I'd like you to post which poll you're referencing, Apollo. Is it poll #45 which asked which format we'd like to pursue in which 2 players voted for FFA, 5 for draft and 27 for salary, or poll #51 which asked "Do you like the current salary system in place?" in which 22 said yes, 25 said no, 16 said no but with some modifications it could be better, and 21 that didn't care?

In either of those polls, I do not see a majority of players that voted against salary as a format, nor do I see another poll regarding the players opinions toward it. If you could point me towards the poll and numbers that you're referring to, I'd be happy to address your point.

Perhaps you're conflating the no votes with the "no but could be better with modification" votes. If that's the case, I hope that it seems apparent that the administrative team is seeking modifications and alterations to the system now because of the desire from the community. I just don't see where you're getting your opinions, but I hope you share your opinion for what modifications you'd like to see.

How's this for a modification, when you meet your squad captain irl, you're not automatically benched.

dave - poll #51, the one that was up at the start of the season and was up ALL season long. At the beginning of the poll when the season was just starting there was an overwhelming amount of people against the salary. Almost double. A lot of the votes have been cast after the fact when the season had already started. Don't ignore that fact please.

I remember pushing very hard against it strictly because there was an overwhelming vote against the salary. I could dig up the thread but at this point it would be pointless. Regardless - last season the majority were not happy with that current system before hand "No and No with some modifications it could be better" yet you ignored the fact that only %26 of the people actually liked the system in place last season and went along with the season anyways correct?

I respect your comments Apollo. I am just trying to understand your argument about season 10 and bringing up past polls. The only constant thing in life is change and people's opinions will change over time. At this point with season 10 approaching it seems that the majority are in favor of the salary system; which is how we decided.

Apollo, I would welcome any ideas you or others may have that can make the salary system more "Sophisticated" and/or operational in comparison to what we currently have.

This has been a pretty productive thread, one of the most that we've had on these forums. I appreciate your interest in my behavior, Apollo, but it seems that you're trying to derail this productive thread by calling my character into question, instead of accepting the current poll results and suggesting ideas despite your own personal preference for a Free-for-All league.

The poll you're referencing does not indicate that salary should not be used, only that it should be improved. This is what the administrative team is interested in doing, and is mining this thread for ideas. If you're interested in having an impact upon the league, I'd suggest a less negative approach by proposing solutions, instead of attempting to create problems.

change the point system to how much people weigh irl that way there is no room for argument or bias. u could cap it at like 500 that way some of our larger friends still can get on squads. i understand though it may cause problems with players like negative zero who are actually manifestations of computer code so he wouldn't technically have a weight

Some key ideas: people get a salary reduction equal to the amount of games they sign up for and only get to be subed in for that amount of games.

for playoffs they only get a percentage per game (plus 5 mins or so for playoffs)
E.G. a person costing 200 salary gets reduced to 100 salary if he signs up for 50% of games but gets only 15 mins-20 mins of every playoff game (-numbers can increase or decrease here,, according to league personnel disrection)
(reg season person gets only to play 2-3 or 2.5 out of 5 games, or 5/10 games), (if he chooses 1/2 a season, he now has the time to focus on other things or join R.D. for the other half a season (no names), of course he can still choose to play the full time for his max salary of 200)

Like I said repeatedly it doesn't matter at this point.. but for future reference you should just say "this is how it's going to be" instead of saying "well the poll won, so this is how it's going to be", when in the past, clearly polls do not matter.

You can't really base opinions on what was happening at the beginning If a poll. You kind of have to group the no,but... people with the the voters for salary cap. If they didn't want salary they would have just outrighted voted no. Then take out the people who voted "I don't care"... and you have 48/64 which is 75% in favour of the salary.

Exactly, you do have to group the no. Regardless of the outcome, majority of the people were not happy with the current system going into the last season whether they wanted a change or wanted to get rid of it all together. There were no changes and it was left ignored. The whole point is, if you're going to ignore the poll in one instance, you cannot use it to validate a decision in another.
