First off, congrats to SFo for taking FI USL Season 2 championships.

I wanted to get the ball running on how season 3 will be run since I assume no one else will. I am prepared for all the hate to run my way :D

I'd like to discuss the idea of having a community vote for the next Head Admin of USL. Creating a sticky post where people that are interested can post an "about myself" and "why I want to be Head Admin" with serious replies by a deadline, and then running a Strawpoll for the community to vote. Thoughts?

Next, once squads start forming in the next few weeks, I think the best decision is having the Captains form a board. This "Captain's Board" will represent their squads (I would hope majority of players will be on squads) and they will vote upon small/big decisions based on USL.

Once this is established, we can go back to the sticky post on USL Rules, and the board can formulate ideas, vote on them, and implement them to create an updated rules list.

Now, this creates a small problem with people formulating squads and then fading them during the off-season. So I would ask for a community vote on how long the off-season should be to make squads (2-3 weeks max) and then the board would be implemented with the new captains. Once that "time limit" is done, maybe 1 week for the Head Admin and the Board of Captains to update rules, map, refs, etc, etc.

I believe Apollo is on par with this idea, now what does the rest of the community think?

Sometimes allowing everyone to vote on an issue results in poor decisions, but I think that's a reasonable price to spread responsibility and ensure that everyone can have their say. USL has been moving further towards letting the community govern itself, and I believe this would be a good next step.

I'd suggest a 3 week off season.

First: the committee thing that was brought up before I think should go into affect. All captains (MAYBE co-capts) should be the voters with the admin as the split decision voter which would deal with rules and in game play. Secondly: as it stands palm is willing to do forum admin stuff(posting, game updates, whatever) while I can do in game. Right now champion is the only one that was officially voted out of admin so id rather not have him in the running but this is all on what the players want.

I don't see where I was voted out. All I said was that I was filling in until the end of the season. I don't want to be admin.

I think we should have a council of old players.. that have been playing for a very long time. I wouldnt necessarily limit it to just captains.

I'd really like to thank the people that ran the league this season, including the people who stepped up and took over during the bumpy patch after Apoc lost.

Everyone should take into consideration that this is a game. A free online game that most of us have been playing for years. Yet, most don't appreciate the fact that the players willing to commit their own personal time to invest into this game and help support and improve it.

We should acknowledge that, and HELP out when/where we can to make it a success. It is nice to see that we have a group willing to give up their extra time and money to make this better. And it does take time. It's not their own game they created, so be patient... Remember, they are players themselves and would like to play just like you.

If you're not happy with it for what ever reason. State your concerns but in a productive manner. To complain, and not offer any help only makes things worse, and ruins any efforts already made by people spending their own free time to give this community something 'fun' to play. If they go MIA, so be it. Personal situations DO come up for all of us. We as a community should step up and help, instead of bashing them for not giving MORE than they already have.

Thank you to everyone that continues to give of themselves so that this game can continue to be available to players that keep coming back to it.

Jane has hit the nail on the head, i myself have been guilty of being toxic towards refs ect, we have all made a decision to continue to play for what ever reason, trash talking to players is something that needs to happen, for some reason this community directs most of it towards refs/staff. I personally think palm and champion both have done a great job with what we have to work with, let alone mizz/palm/kon for getting this up and running, considering that we all still play this game after 14 years or so. We obviously enjoy it for our different reasons, but getting this right is essential to how the next few seasons go, I personally don't think having captains make decisions after or during games is a good idea, i agree that the captains need to make decisions about the league/map/rules for the league, but we have to start respecting the ref/admins decisions.

Also, i bet, if SFO sticks around, they will get destroyed, some good squads coming to take you down
