the boost from being on a mid tier squad is minimal. if you're able to hold a decent kdr/kpg on a low/mid squad your rating will reflect it. otherwise the weight of kdr/kpg in the rating formula will destroy your rating and even the squad boost won't save you.

Apollo, you should know that no ratings are ever perfect. We tried to make these rate players not based solely off of their squad, but try to get a more full picture of it than simply kills and deaths.

The original formula was set to SL settings and because of that the numbers had to be reworked. The competition formula with those settings was also a missing piece that we did not have. So we've done our best to implement something that equalizes things out between squads.

The reason there is no bonus for the top tier is because the ratings that were being put out were simply not realistic initially. All said the more balanced competition is the more accurate the ratings fell for everyone in regards to how they were performing relative to how their squad was performing.

i think the squad bonus is to high tbh just using the examples given:

riley 9 games total= squad record 3-6
vs bfb=32-11
vs ms 23-18 (with a loss to ms)
vs left overs 6-16
vs sonic 5-18
vs inf(1 game played) 5-10
rated=87

gary 9 games total squad record=6 -3
vs inf 7-14
vs bfb 13-4
vs bs 26- 6
vs ms 17 -5
vs sonic 1- 5(1 game played)
rated=86

just looking at the numbers you can see that gary has done decent vs playoff squads and that riley has struggled vs playoff squads. i think the ratings check box 2- 4 is pretty spot on without the squad boost.

Gary's squad is also +111 and BS is -184

gary may have done a little better against playoff squads but Riley did better overall against equal competition. whereas gary has less kills against "easier" squads. so their ratings are going to be similar. if that makes sense.

again, the ratings aren't going to be perfect but this is probably as good as we can get with competition factor.

And just for the record I'd told Champ I felt I was rated too high when they output. Not to fear we play infamous this week.

well the sheet doesn't typically matter for me, just for now.

although 1 thing that caught me on the sheet is the game time played which is 1800 seconds.

when you look in the results of game ending match on site. players be playing maximum usually 1776.

Say you play 6 out of 10 games, and those 6 are strictly against the harder squads. Add in a shit k/d and kpg. Would the formula positively or negatively impact that player? you know, asking for a friend.

Riley vs Sonichu = 5-18 (2 games)

Riley = 9 games
Pandy = 6 games

I guess i'm not sure how they have the same rating, when Pandy has been performing better in every way and they are on the same squad.
