How about the cave beast award, since hustler had no hype and never played usl before season one and ended with 40 kills on the finals runner up squad????

I agree there should be a revamp to the awards. I think more credit to the players who perform great in quite frankly less stacked squads can only be a good thing. Rookie of the year! dino / BFN my favs!

Mecca, that is the exact idea I had behind this award. Recognizing a new player to the league doesn't have to be a new player to the game as a whole.

I can kind of see where apollo is coming from but fuck your delivery sucks, and cael has been the better player between the two for almost every season they've both participated in except maybe this past season where ice did real good for a couple weeks run on a good squad and cael stagnanted on shitty preds. But yea... Apollo has a point, there arent enough of these 'new' guys coming back yet to even name more than 5.

Why not do most improved player instead of Rookie of the year. There's only so many people that will ever qualify for rookie of the year. Most of the player base has played for years.

I like two suggestions:

Rookie of the Year - Given at end of the season to a player NEW to USL.

Most Improved Player - Not necessary to be a new player.

What's the harm in giving out a couple of recognitions that likely won't go to the champion squad.
It's so fucking boring to finish the season with a post that reads, "U wins the trophy, U wins most deadly, U wins best defense, U had the best marine,etc etc etc."

Let's spread the wealth a bit more when it comes to handing out superlatives - it definitely makes the game more interesting for me to talk about.
