USL definitely used *arena messages back in the day.

At least for the majority of my matches.

Camping timer? *arena 2 minute warning
Substitutes? *arena so and so is in
Some kind of rule violation? *arena so and so has been specced for lagging

The captain chat was always used as a question and answer platform.

As I alluded to last night in spec chat, if you guys have changed that, that's cool.

Can we change it back?

Because I stand by assertion:

Very easy to miss ?chat messages

Very hard to miss ?arena messages

As I said.

We were aware of the rules. I specifically even mentioned it to our squad <i> "I think we can only stay here so long, but they haven't started the timer yet, so let's wait until they do" </i> or whatever I said.

No timer was ever put up. As far as we knew the timer had not even started.

There is no more separate timer from the game timer. Using *timer changes the actual game time so a manual timer is used.

In this case just the general knowledge the official timer had begun would have sufficed.

EDIT: the *arena message in this case would have triggered everyone still unspecced for OON to make a mental note <i>"okay, we need to move by 11:25pm"</i> or whatever.

I realize you or someone said something in captain chat. But for whatever reason our captains missed it. You yourself admit it got a little hectic.

Once again, not blaming anyone. It sounds like you guys stopped using *arena messages for whatever reason. We take full blame. We crossed the rape lines. We got ourselves down 7v5. However we would have liked every opportunity to keep it 7v5 at worst. Especially since Backs' timer was seconds from being up when I was specced. And I think Driven was only a minute or so behind him.

Have your own timer. Know the rules.

How am I supposed to have my own timer? There's a reason the timer is issued by the staff. We don't know when it starts.

7.7 CAMPING ABOVE 5 MINUTES OF GAMEPLAY: A squad cannot camp in one sector (H2), or move from one sector back to the one they were just in (H2 > H1 > H2) for more than 2 minutes. Captains will be notified when a camping squad must move. If a squad does camp more than the allowed time and ignores the Referee, their location will be revealed to the opposing team and will lose a player slot for 10 minutes, skipping leaders and medics first. For every additional minute that the squad camps after ignoring the Referee, they will lose an additional player for another 10 minutes.

7.8 CAMPING AT OR BELOW 5 MINUTES OF GAMEPLAY: If there is 5 minutes or less remaining in the match, a squad cannot camp for more than 1 minute. If the squad ignores the Referee when being asked to move, a player slot will be taken away for the remainder of the game and a kill will be awarded to the opposing squad.

Captains will be notified when a camping squad must move.

Jesus what a poorly written rule. I get upsets like never happen here but that rule has a gaping loophole in it if you are up 6 with 5 minutes remaining.

Emp, I don't understand what you're getting at. You are acting like it was an error from the staff for not using *arena .. we had notified your captains and they acknowledged it as they were replying to us in Captains chat.

You saying an *arena message would trigger a mental note is beyond retarded because your captains aka your representatives of your squad were given ample notice and multiple warnings but chose to sit there and argue with champion saying things like "appeal".

Since free infantry was around there was never any *arena message for camp timer. In the rules clear as day it says Captains will be notified which they were. Redirect your messages to your squad forum.

Why is there always drama in Backs matches?... Two theories

1.) The league is corrupt and wants to destroy the #3 player in USL, don't want him to shine.
2.) Just coincidence
3.) Backs is a trolly piece of shit who just attracts drama

*arena messages are seen by everyone. In special green text or whatever color you choose to make it.

It is very distinct. Almost impossible to miss.

?chat messages are a dull yellow and some players are in 9 of them. A person on a non USL Staff alias saying "20 seconds" in passing during all of that commotion is easily missed.

This is exactly where my forum messages belong.

You guys act like using *arena would crash the server. *arena notifies the captains. It notifies the players. It notifies everyone.

We had 7 people online. Had Champion or Ice said "20 second" or whatever he supposedly said using *arena I guarantee I would have at the least seen it. I feel confident my Captains would have seen it too.

So no. This isn't a retarded request. I understand the rules. I am asking that you staff make use of your available tools moving forward. The *arena command exists for this reason.

As I have already said. We are to blame. I am not blaming you or Champion or even the troll Ice. I am making a request. Why is this request against your religion? Do *arena messages give you PTSD?

My phone keeps autocorrecting arena to "are a" this is annoying.

There have been no issues about it in the past but we will make it more of a priority to use the arena messages going forward.
