A BOTR is exactly what's needed for the other 4 squads. If you guys claim you don't care about winning "e rings" then what's wrong with the BOTR? Keeps the squads playing still and no one is left out of the league.

Just do what leagues have been doing since this game came out. Have a championship playoffs and a BOTR. Also it's clear a good majority care about their stats more than the league itself and couldnt care less about if it faded as long as they ended up being on the top of the charts when it did. Narcissists fucking everywheres.

Yes to BOTR. I remember a season in SL where my squad didn't make it but ended up winning BOTR. It's a great way to keep interest in a league.

Ok again you're using weird math support your own opinion which anyone would do but it clearly isn't the majority. The majority leans towards having more teams in playoffs than less just like the majority leaned towards having a later roster lock than an earlier. It's ok to be blinded by this but "the majority wants it" is not true.

It doesn't make it more competitive when 3-4 squads beat up on eachother and they miss the playoffs because of their kdr. That's not a sound argument.

It wins by simple majority: "a majority in which the highest number of votes cast for any one candidate, issue, or item exceeds the second-highest number, while not constituting an absolute majority" - by 4 votes.

However, this one -is- similar to the roster lock poll (which I go on to explain in my post). When you combine elements of that poll, 73% showed roster lock should be on or prior to week 4. When you combine elements of this poll, 58% believe it should be 6 squads or more that are invited to playoffs.

I like the idea of BOTR but my problem is, my one season w/ SE in BOTR we had very little shows. We may as well allow all squads. I dont remember the rest of the BOTR seasons but seriously guys, when youre competitive as we are(we're playing a 15 year old game) and you don't want to show for a half ass award match, why even bother? Why not just do all squads enter playoffs and keep it simple?

To be quite frank, this should have been decided before the season started.

I would consider including the 6 squads based on that fact alone, we need to know these things before the season starts.

either way, I see why people want 4 or 6, I just think there is more benefit, THIS SEASON, in making it 6 squads.

This part is pretty weird to me. You are basically saying the members of the top4 squads opinions are worth more than the rest. I think its absurd to claim those who voted for a 6 (or more..) squad playoff only did so to "ensure they got in". While it still could be true, it makes you look like shit as league admin for trying to use it as an argument. It's not valid.


Who else from worms leaned toward 6? I voted for all 8 (because 6 teams = 2 teams having bye week, which noone wants). Splittah voted for 6. I couldn't find any votes from haup or slob. Perhaps it was a site-base poll and not from a forum post.

Staff vote is meaningless.


Have a BoTR if you want, but that doesn't mean anyone other than Legends and SA would show up. Most people are too bitter after missing the playoffs.

Id say let all 8 squads in. It would keep the league active throughout the season and everyone will still have fun. The population isn't big enough to have an exclusive tier while leaving the other half out. This game thrives on each other. No one can do with out the other.

Almost every analysis indicated CK/IV/WH were top squads leading into the season - that would have taken the top 3. It stands to reason that squads 4-6 during that time would vote for 6 squads to ensure they get into playoffs. It was a conclusion drawn from the data & qualitative information available. If it's hard for you to swallow, I do understand that... also note it's just my conclusion - you can draw your own.

Out of curiousity: Why did you vote for all 8?

Prob just clicked w/e just to vote. Anyways if we have 4 or 6 in the playoffs, the rest of the squads will just disband and wait for next season or maybe quit the game. So why not have all 8 in the playoffs to give everyone a chance to win and keep the game active during the week? Or you can go with 4 or 6 playoff squads and play all of the matches in one week, so we don't have to wait a whole month for a new season.

8 squad playoff gives the top 2 squads an extra game... but against the 7/8 squads where we saw the community predict 92% and 100% respectively that the top seeded squads would win.

We run an elimination-style playoff bracket. No matter what, some squads will lose early and will not be able to play as many games as other squads. So even if you're advocating a 8 squad playoff to keep everyone excited... 4 squads are still eliminated the following week and we run through the same 4 squad playoff (perhaps, as a longshot, with different teams).
