because I may have a couple people that may not want to play every game this season, aside from maybe 1 or 2, and scrims. Not worth wasting space on my main lineup, when they wouldnt even play regardless.. but if there was a system where I could swap players out.

We might be able to get one last decent season if we scrap the salary idea Judinny.
I feel at this rate a lot of players that are willing to play, are not going to because they simply didn't get on a squad.
Reason: lack of interest to captain, and not enough salary space. I know for me, I've had to turn away players already simply because I couldn't afford them even though they are not all-star players and it wouldn't be considered stacking

The captains do determine the effectiveness of the salary cap, but the league will not be returning to free-for-all. You shouldn't be able to get someone just because you want them, Apollo, even if it's a 65-75 cost player.
You'll have to turn people away regardless. If you want more room, kick your 225 player(s). You can have a good team with one top player and the rest mixed in. Or you can have two top players and probably get 2-4 mid-tier players with the rest low ranked. Or you can get 3 top players and only be able to get 20-30 cost players. Or you can get no top players and pretty much do whatever you want

dave - think you missed my point. I'll try again. I'm making a squad, I have my set lineup for my squad. I now have to recruit 2 players that cost nothing, just so I can make the 10 player minimum. So I'll have 10 players on my squad. If every squad does this give or take 1 or 2 players, there isn't enough space for the amount of players wanting to play.. especially if there are no captains. If your solution is to kick expensive players, if everyone did that, some of the expensive players won't have a squad.
Multiple people getting turned away from squads = not on a squad
not being on a squad = not playing (maybe not for all, but I'm guessing a lot)
I'm looking at the free agents list, and I don't see players like Devil, Khaos, Easoe getting on a team.. unless they become a lot more active again? Then you have top players like Chris/Sov/ER/em4, who do show up.. and they could potentially be taking away spots from others. Pretty sure when chris cleared the free agents list, all those people that rejoined it have the desire to play, maybe not every week.. but ocassionally, should those players be punished?
not posting this to argue, just trying to get ahead of any issue that may arise. How exactly do you intend to fix that problem should it come up dave?

We've mentioned possibly increasing the salary cap if there are a lot of players that are unable to get on a squad. The exact salary cap increase would depend upon how many are left out. There could be some other ingenius idea out there too. I'll put more thought into it and would ask anyone to post if they have an idea for it as well.
This system encourages selecting those who are active. We're trying to limit the strength of the top squads and encourage playing with other people. It's a difficult situation as you don't want to make costs so low that it allows picking up a lot of top players with upper mid ranked, but you want to ensure that as many people play as possible. You could assign different salary costs for the more inactive top players, but that could be very easily abused. Activity varies from season to season, so who's to say a usually inactive top player that is picked up for cheap doesn't become more active this season?
I'm open to ideas, and would like all of those with serious ideas to share them to encourage participation of every player that wants to play this season. We need to be honest with ourselves though, as no matter what choice is made, there will be those that are excluded, no matter the league format. Even if the format was the same as it has been in previous seasons, there would be those that would be discouraged from playing the same old shit. The road that the league was on would've resulted in more players losing interest and squads dropping out, little by little. Our goal is to maximize the playerbase while increasing competition. The salary cap format could prove to be a failure, but its worth trying something new and different to keep this game alive that we've all been playing for so long.

I'm sure there's another squad that forms and as of right now there's 6 225 players left
Beer me could get one or two.
Snakes could probably afford 1
Rejects could get one if they use fillers
Roadhouse could get 3
The new squad could pick up 2-3
problem is it's hard paying 225 for someone like devil or my boy alonzo if you don't know if they're gonna show or not
