depends on the map, sniper would be much more valuable in a camp.. if I had a sniper I would play like a huge pussy and do long distance fights and fall back if they push. It's pretty clear you can run away for days and not fight if you want to.. a really pussy tactic would be to stay a far at a distance almost at max range and wait for a sniper to get a pick.. they push you? fall back some more and wait for a snipe.. they push you all the way to base? even better for a sniper

i dont get how you can camp with a sniper... doesn't camping mean hiding in rocks, buildings or some shit like that?... People camp with a nader way more effectively than a sniper... All you have to do is push a sniper and he done.... the shots are only 60HP... so meds cant even die with one shot.

camping is different than ambushing (hiding).. And I think you missed what I said backs. You can camp (not hide) and shoot at max range getting multiple shots off, if they push in a little, you fall back a little still at max AR range... "All you have to do is push a sniper" again, you want to stay at max range, so if they push, you back up (with a good sniper, the pushing team is at a major disadvantage). At least with grenadier you're encouraged to do more close quarters fighting for it to be viable. Sniper it is the polar opposite.

It's not that easy for a sniper to just simple fall back... you know how slow they are. Back peddling is extremely slow... it takes forever to fall.

No good players will play sniper, and you know sov is gonna camp on any map so what's the difference if we put it in or not

@backs, its pretty simple when you're already in the back and have a team full of shooting marines in front of you, while being at max range.
@Future if you don't think there is any difference, then why are you advocating for sniper in multiple posts, when I am simply against adding it in with the start date so soon. As I would like to see it tested more across all maps in a variety of different playstyles.

Because, it's not like this game has hundreds of players like before. If adding sniper will make it enjoyable to a handful of people then it's worth it.
Let people decide if they want to use it or not.

Why does it need to be tested more than nader with de or running ripper? It doesn't. Will hardly change anything except for maybe one squad, literally won't hurt anything

It's quite funny how the two people who are arguing for snipers argument is simply "It's so bad that no one will use it besides one or two squads". I don't understand why you guys are even arguing it besides two of the most passive players wanting to play it.

I think running ripper is stupid, I really hope that isn't added. And twerking a class (nader) is totally different than adding completely new ones in (AT/Sniper). I honestly don't think any classes should be changed or new ones added.
And I 100% agree, that the argument that nobody will use it, is a very bad one. Squads will use it, especially if it's a top tier squad against a bottom tier squad. You cannot make the assumption and speak on behalf of every squad that nobody will use it. You have to assume that every squad will use it if you want to successfully implement in.

Let the nader and ripper changes go through a season first then consider adding AT or Sniper in the coming seasons individually. We can't just throw all these changes in at once.

How is it too much st once? I'm honestly baffled that the argument against adding a class and making usl a bit more interesting is that change can't come sll at once... after the entire community bitches about wanting to change things up to get people back and keep current nerds around.

Its pretty ridiculous... I can understand if sniper did 80HP shots... Like not one person has said its over powered... all i have seen is the camping shit, meanwhile look at the fucking scores on some of yall matches... 34-20.. thats ridiculous, so you can't use the camping excuse, that makes zero sense...
I think they are scared of a sniper being the X factor in a battle for a bad squad vs a good squad... they are just scared of another factor that can happen that can cost them the "sure W"... makes no sense.
