Please stop lumping PI and MG together. PI gets an SB going once a month, we SB almost every night.

We are built for activity, they struggle to show enough for matches. There's a lot of big differences. MG is clearly built for improvement. PI is built to introduce new players to the league.

I think a draft is clearly the way to spread out talent. If you piss off Sov or Noskeeper or whoever and they don't want to play anymore, who cares? You still end up with a highly competitive league.

Don't let the bad attitudes and insistence on stacking from the top 20 players dictate how much fun the 80 of us have. It makes no sense. The NFL and NBA aren't set up so that the best players can just choose each other and roll over the rest of the league. Nobody wants to pay to see that shit.

Draft league, and tell the whiners to go fuck themselves when they refuse to participate. Will see a slight dip at the beginning but it will pick up momentum once everyone realizes that literally any of the 7 squads is capable of winning at any given time.

I don't get how draft won't be successful when we just did it in SL and had a successful test season.

Agreed mizz, Draft worked out just fine in SL, and that's not even a zone the majority want to play!

It's up to the majority of the population to make the league fun, even with 10-20 players insisting on the same stack season after season, with only one game a week being any good.

People are grouping up PI & MG because they're both squads that are out of the playoffs but aren't as bad as squads in a similar position in the past.

Not everyone wants a draft, people have their preferences on who they do an don't want to play with. Forcing them into a draft doesn't solve anything, it usually decreases activity and you'll have people who don't sign on. Yeah you can say "fuck the whiners" but that's just catering to the lower squads who have played the same amount of years but still can't get better.

People forget this game is complete optional and a hobby on just Sundays for a lot of people. Trying to force people away from their friends/usual squaddies doesn't accomplish anything but to quell the whining of the people on the bottom squads.

Another, drastic alternative, if the powers that be are so against a draft would be a Competition Rule.

Competition Rule - The following players must have no more than TWO of these players on the same squad this season:

Champion
kaga
Sov
Sol
Leak
Fax
manu

We'd obviously make a realistic list based on the stacked rosters of the past 5 seasons.

You really care more about the top 2 squad's experience than the other 5 squad's experiences? Just because they're better? You're the problem.

As a CTFer the inherent problem in trying to have competitive balance in USL is that this zone is based on skill alone compared to CTF the entire objective is obviously to kill where in CTF you can forego that with different strategies. You aren't ever going to see any scenario where a squad like PI beats a IDC or NWA and also if you try to force people into playing on lower tier squads they just won't play.

So tldr version USL is what it is and trying to force people onto lower tier squads is just going to result in less activity as a whole.

Fyi sinnage, pi has never "struggled" to show enough for matches. We have never had to ask for or even contemplate NTs.

Who knows, maybe we will "struggle" this Sunday and have to use tactical.

So it's time to eliminate the tiers. If every squad is on the same level, skill-wise, then nobody is forced to play with a "lower-tier" squad.

I'm the captain of a squad at the bottom. I've had multiple players come and go. I'm still having fun and I dont really care about some salary cap. I love this game too much for some stacked squads to ruin it for me.

Saying this goes against my main objective of repopulating the game, but if people stop playing because they can't win a match then so be it.

what's worse? complaining about "stacking" while playing against better players with the chance to possibly get better from experience and learning from your mistakes

or

adding in a rule that forces people who actually use their brain to spread out to other squads so the braindead players can feel better about themselves on a video game where the objective is to be better than your opponent
